    <Paragraph position="0"> We have presented an outline of a procedure that enables us to transform syntactical (tectogrammatical) structures into a fully equipped knowledge representation framework. We have compared the structural properties of TR and MultiNet and found both similarities and differences suggesting which parts of such a task are more dif cult and which are rather technical. The comparison shows that for applications requiring understand- null ing of texts (e.g., question answering system) it is desirable to further analyze TR into another layer of knowledge representation.</Paragraph>
