    <Paragraph position="0"> A novel bootstrapping approach to NE classification is presented. This approach does not require iterative learning which may suffer from error propagation. With minimal human supervision in providing a handful of concept-based seeds, the resulting NE tagger approaches supervised NE performance in NE types for PERSON and LOCATION. The system also demonstrates effective support for user-defined NE classification.</Paragraph>
