It shows good results and the efficiency of the proposed approach in simplifying sentence structures. Many tasks such as chunking on high level could benefit from this.</Paragraph> <Paragraph position="1"> With the system described here, we get 9 types of Chinese base phrases, and acquire high precisions and recalls on most types of base phrases. The results of the experiment also show that the use of grammar rules is necessary.
