<Paragraph position="0"> This paper has described a method by which the potential environment referents for all possible interpretations of of an input sentence can be evaluated during parsing, in polynomial time. The architecture described in this paper has been implemented with a large coverage grammar as a run-time interface to a virtual human simulation. It demonstrates that a natural language interface architecture that uses the objects and events in an application's run-time environment to inform disambiguation decisions (by performing semantic evaluation during parsing) is feasible for interactive applications.</Paragraph>
