    <Paragraph position="0"> For these and many other adjectives the 'new' relations identified in IWN are necessary, given that we often cannot encode other relations for them. The relations encoded provide fundamental semantic information on them, which can, for instance, be used to infer semantic preferences (e.g., only certain loes can be modified by piumato, etc.). The inclusion of this information in a large database which is mainly intended for computational applications can be very useful, mainly because it may help in resolving ambiguities and may be used to draw inferences of different nature.</Paragraph>
